"NOW is the time for great change" - Mucinshi School

The success of Chimoza has enabled The Q Fund to undertake an even larger project. In 2009, construction will begin on the new Mucinshi School. “Mucinshi” is a Bemba word that means “respect, a sense of importance and value.” The Mucinshi School will be the cornerstone of a sustainable community that will be financially self-sufficient within 5-7 years. There, students will learn to preserve and uphold the ancient art forms of the African people and acquire the skills to engage in sustainable, earth-friendly, business enterprises within their community.

The construction of the new school represents a collaboration and working partnership with individuals and organizations who share the Q Fund's vision, such as the Trust for African Rock Art, Exquisite Safari Philanthropy in the United States, TEVETA (Technical, Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Authority) in Lusaka , and Northrise University in Ndola.

As it grows and develops, this model community will provide stability and a bright future for generations of African children. This scalable, replicable plan can be used to support vulnerable children and communities in need anywhere in the world.
